HAFP FOUNDATION GRANTS

HAFP Foundation Grants offer HAFP members funds to support travel expenses to attend AAFP-sponsored conferences and projects that advance family medicine across Hawai'i. Grant funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis until annual funding is expended.

PROJECT GRANTS

  • Dr. Arcelita Imasa (Primary Care Clinic of Hawai'i): "A Walk with a Doc"
    • Nonprofit program that inspires communities through movement and conservation
    • Free walking program that allows Kalihi residents to safely take a walk, learn about health topics, and meet new people.
  • Dr. Patty Tran (UHFMRP): "Point of Care Testing For Sexually Transmitted Infections in the Houseless Population"
    • Offering STI point-of-care tests for uninsured houseless clients.
    • Weekly outreach to provide medical care to this vulnerable community.

  • Dr. Amy Guyon (Hawaii Health Systems Corporation): "No pressure, but you really should be reading!"
    • Offering free books to improve early literacy and increase reading at home
    • Offering free blood pressure cuffs to improve hypertension diagnosis and management
  • Dr. Marguerite Susich (UHFMRP): "Fresh Friends"
    • Offering fresh local produce delivery and recipes for adolescents and teenagers diagnosed with metabolic and/or cardiovascular disease
